Strangled ~ I used to say I’d never stalk my prey... The skeleton of this song was mapped out in Vancouver and sat on the back burner until the big move was completed and the studio set up. Finally. All fired up. And two beautiful white guitars that had never been on tape. The recording was sporadic at first so I’ll say it really commenced in September of '17. Full-tilt. Strangled was slated as the lead-off track on that “Parade” album but lost out to “Tick After Tock” and then was eventually shelved. I spotted it in the water and we rescued it .. for the time being. You’ll be making the cuts from here on in, I told the song. This one would've been a whole lotta fun with a band. Trading solos. So I threw in a few mock ones. This was as close to completion as I got. Once I wrote “Tick” I knew it had to go. And I couldn’t see it anywhere other than lead-off. I’ll have to finish it anyway I suppose. The video for this one is among the other "parade" videos and will be moved to a new playlist soon. This was also the first song recorded here at CandyLand so it deserves a second look. Put her back under the microscope .. have a peek .. xoRJ
