“So where does she get those steamy little devils.” Love it. I’ve been known to hit the love button once or twice. Read that anyway you want to. And that’s basically what this song is all about. Now and then, one should have to wonder just what the hell is going on. Like those cats from ‘Goddo’ said … I’m a pretty bad boy. Yet surrounded by angels. Light and dark. Just me and my shadow side. I wrote this one off the cuff. I’m not sure which song I was mixing from the Friday Night release but I stumbled on this. Stopped a session midstream to lay down a rough guitar and simple drum arrangement. Then back to the session. While taking a breather I hastily penned the lyrics. Ah well, nothing’s ever finished. Not when you live with a recording studio. I’ve gone as far as I could with this demo. Maybe too far. I left the bass track in a rough state. No matter. Super whizkid Catlin will be laying down the keeper. But I screwed up on the guitar parts. There wasn’t supposed to be any leads or fills. Sorry Dale. I got bored. They’ll be wiped out anyway. Just a bit of good clean fun. So the song now awaits the other band members' input. I’ll leave it there for now. I did manage to change some lines up. I’ll get to it when I scrub the scratch lead vocals. At the moment the lyrics are just cut and paste. I had to do it to save time. There was a big re-arrangement shakeup. But here we are. Arrangement is intact. Once finished, this will be our first single of 2020. I’m all over this tune … hit the ‘Love’ button. xoRJ
Sexy little posts
Hints of dynamite
So I respond in kind
Where does she get
Those crazy little devils
She puts at the end of her text line
I used to notice flowers
Now they’re flaming hearts and devils
Start to disconnect and I say “next time”
I always hit the “like” button - I’m kinda shy
But I’m gonna hit her “love” button - next time
Gonna wait around - she’s gonna come online
Then I’ll hit the “love” button - hit the “love” button
Gonna hit the “love” button - next time … yeah
“Like” button - “Love” button
Really has a flair
The way she builds her words
Her punctuation’s fine
So where does she get
Those steamy little devils
She puts all over her text lines
Power to the planet, power to the people
I’ll have to plan it better
When my heart’s on the line …
I always hit the “like” button - I’m kinda shy
But I’m gonna hit her “love” button - next time
Gonna wait around - she’s gonna come online
Then I’ll hit the “love” button - hit the “love” button
Gonna hit the “love” button - next time … yeah
Funky little flowers
Are flaming hearts and devils
Heart's all horse with reins on fire
Hot cold sweats - get me to a medic
Better keep 'em close
When I'm here online
