about

A gift for a gift. Like for like. And an early nudge from a Mercury retrograde. And thus begins the journey of Lolly. And welcome to our first single release of 2020. Lolly (Paste Mix) had humble beginnings. This little ditty was originally was titled Polly (Billies Mix). I left it on the playlist for the hell of it. I imagine I’ll send it to the vault once the new album is released. A curiosity of sorts. After posting the original track I left it alone for a while. Concentrating on the new line-up and the upcoming festival show. However. When I went back in to add tracks, the files were corrupted. I won’t go into it further. When I was seventeen I was dating a girl who wrote me a poem. Her name was Lolly. A summer love, a postcard, and a photo. I loved the poem. Touching. And hey, I’m usually the poem writer …
Perhaps the angels got in the mix on this one. Finally return the favour. And perhaps a karmic trade-off. A song for a poem. The poem itself is long lost. He was just seventeen … if you know what I mean … This song should be making the usual rounds shortly. I’m currently working on the album cut for this one. There are new additions already. You’ll notice the guitar solo is pasted in the second solo section. The album version will feature two new members. And new parts. I’m thinking of trade-off solos between guitar and keyboards. News at eleven. And so, here is our first offering for 2020. Previewed here first. As it will be a world-wide release shortly, a new singles compilation will be pinned to the page. And expect an album version of “Lolly” once All Lit Up, our sixth full-length release, is completed. Starting to see things properly … so in love with this 2020 vision. xoRJ

lyrics

Lolly - yeah, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day … whew …
Yeah, yeah, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day

I gotta go to work, I ain’t been to sleep
Lolly want to do it … do it all day
Seven’s not enough, give her eight days a week
Lolly want to do it … do it all day

Ooh, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day … oh, my
Yeah, yeah, Lolly - Lolly want to do it all day

Says “take it easy” … and easy means some more
Lolly want to do it … do it all day
Lolly wants a snack, she locking all the doors
Lolly want to do it … do it all day

Ooh, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day … oh, my …
Yeah, yeah, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day

I been late for work every day this week
Always wanting more
I try to leave, Lolly’s locking all the doors

whew … oh my my, yeah yeah

Lolly - yeah, yeah, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day
Lolly - ooh, yeah, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day

I’m an easy target, arrow in a tree
Lolly want to do it … do it all day
Strips away the bark, nothin’ left of me
Lolly want to do it … do it all day

Ooh, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day
Lolly - ooh, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day

Ooh, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day
Lolly - yeah, yeah, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day
Ooh, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day - yeah, yeah
Ooh, Lolly — Lolly want to do it all day

I gotta go to work, I ain’t been to sleep
Seven’s not enough, give her eight days a week
Says “take it easy”, easy means some more
Lolly want a snack, she’s locking all the doors … whew …
