CROCODILE TEARS “That’s enough of those silly love songs.” Playing in my head all night. Remember that first song? Not being able to shut down? Like that blasted radio. And that warm bed of nails. This song was feeling like that. Even after the mixes started building. What a stiff song. Where is that magic groove hiding. I took the song apart with a fine tooth comb. I decided to take a different approach and re-recorded the rhythm guitar track. Give it meat and prominence. Strong enough to stand alone if need be. I’m convinced it can. I could loop this song and play it for hours and be content just playing that rhythm part. Fun, fun, fun. Like finally dusting yourself off after a bad situation and saying lesson learned. Exhilarating. That big ol’ crocodile is gone and so are those tears. I mean really. Who in their right mind would want to get close enough to see that bugger cry. Once bitten … xoRJ
